statement of beliefs
The KAIO Conference is a Youth Retreat (for incoming 7th - 13th graders)
that is hosted and run by Covenant Fellowship Church.
Covenant Fellowship Church's core beliefs are based on the foundational truths of the Bible as expressed by the Westminster Confessional Standards, which consist of the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger Catechism (pt. 1, pt. 2), and the Shorter Catechism. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines. A paraphrase of the salient core beliefs is provided below.
WE BELIEVE
IN THE INERRANT WORD
the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and is without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
IN GRACE THROUGH CHRIST THE GOD-MAN
that God has shown His mercy by sending Jesus Christ, who was fully God and fully man, to save sinners by His grace alone, not based on any human works.
IN THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT
the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the desire, ability, and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
IN THE HOLY TRINITY
in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
IN CHRIST’S DEATH AND RESURRECTION
that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection atoned for and conquered the sin of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
IN THE HOLY TRINITY
in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
IN TOTAL DEPRAVITY
that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.
IN GOD’S COVENANT PROMISE
that God is gracious and faithful to His people according to His covenant promises.
IN HIS LORDSHIP
all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
